Este saboroso disco de estréia assim como o posterior, chamou atenção apenas em Boston, cidade natal da rapaziada. Riffs precisos e uma busca de som próprio ainda em evolução. Conta com 2 clássicos fundamentais para se entender a banda: Dream On, uma power balada e Mama Kin um baita rockão, coverizado com muita competência pelo Guns n´Roses. Um disco bastante curto mas um belo cartão de visitas da banda.

Este disco, que é um dos meus preferidos, mostra uma evolução significativa com sons um pouco mais viajantes e elaborados como Woman of the World e Seasons of Wither. O ponto alto fica pra impecável regravação de Train Kept A-Rollin.

Um dos maiores clássicos do Rock e também um dos mais vendidos. Com um aperfeiçoamento sonoro impecável, o Aerosmith mostra a que veio. Músicas sensacionais do naipe de Adam´s Apple, No More No More e as consagradas Sweet Emotion e Walk this Way fazem deste disco um item obrigatório em qualquer discoteca.

Mais um dos meus preferidos. Um dos discos mais pesados e significativos. Nesta fase as drogas imperavam e, como todos sabem, os maiores discos da história surgiram desta forma. Todas as músicas são dignas de respeito, mas tenho queda por Back in the Saddle, Last Child e Nobody´s Fault.

1977 - Draw the Line

Difícil não se apaixonar por este belíssimo trabalho. A banda estava afinadíssima e tocando com muito tesão cada música. Este último grande disco da primeira fase nos reserva ótimas surpresas, representadas aqui pela faixa título, I Wanna Know Why e pela espetacular-quase-prog Kings and Queens.

Por sorte, para registrar esta fase da banda temos um disco Live. Saiu de uma forma pouco convencional na época, pois só foi lançado oficialmente pelo simples fato de estarem pirateando muito os discos do Aero. Praticamente todos os grandes clássicos estão presentes em versões arrasadoras, além da inédita Chip Away the Stone.

1979 - Night in the Ruts

Aqui a banda estava se desintegrando e começa a fase de declínio. Após as gravações deste disco, Joe Perry deixa a banda e é substituído por Jimmy Crespo. Logo depois em 81 é a vez de Brad Whitford pular fora do barco e ser substituído por Rick Dufay. Este disco é realmente fraco se tomarmos por base o que já tinha sido feito antes, mas possui boas músicas como No Surprize, Cheese Cake e Three Mile Smile. Não chega a ser dos piores.

1980 - Greatest Hits

Vendo a coisa ir pro brejo a gravadora coloca a primeira coletânea de uma série no mercado. É o disco mais vendido, sendo o único a conseguir certificação de diamante por 10 milhões de cópias vendidas nos EEUU. No entanto não merece. As músicas foram muito bem escolhidas, incluíram Come Together dos Beatles, mas as versões são todas editadas! Achei um crime, mas enfim, deu certo!

No Dia dos Namorados de 1985 Steven Tyler e Joe Perry colocam as diferenças de lado (e as drogas) e voltam com a formação original gravando este disco. Primeiro pela gravadora Geffen. Não podemos dizer que foi das melhores, mas também não é dos piores. Não acho nenhuma música ruim, mas poucas são sensacionais. Let the Music Do the Talking é o nome do primeiro álbum solo de Joe Perry e o melhor momento deste. Também se destacam Shela e She´s on Fire. Vale uma boa escutada!
